Embrace a Street Child exists for God to redeem street children through the Good News of Jesus Christ - and to rescue, rehabilitate, and reintegrate them into their family and community.

Step 01
Our outreach teams build trust with boys living in the most dangerous conditions - under bridges, in markets, near garbage dumps. Many are addicted to glue, jet fuel, or other inhalants just to survive the cold nights.
When a child is ready, we invite him to one of our centres. No child is forced. Every door is open. We simply offer warmth, food, safety - and the chance to begin again.
Step 02
At the centre, every boy receives consistent meals, clothing, medical attention, and a safe bed. We address the physical, emotional, and spiritual wounds of life on the street through one-on-one counselling, group therapy, and mentorship.
Daily life includes Bible study, remedial schoolwork, arts and crafts, sports, and the introduction of practical life and vocational skills - laying the foundation for independence and dignity.
Step 03
Reuniting a child with family is a careful, supported process. We locate relatives, prepare both the child and family, and facilitate a gradual transition - never rushing a boy back into an environment that may not yet be ready to receive him.
After reunification, our team continues regular follow-ups - visiting homes, supporting families, and ensuring every child has what they need to stay off the streets for good.
Step 04
At the heart of everything we do is the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We believe that true and lasting transformation is only possible through God's redemptive love - and we share that message with every child, every day.
We pray for each boy to know he is seen, valued, and loved by God - not just by us. Many boys have come to faith, and we have seen lives transformed in ways that go far beyond what any program alone could achieve.

Embrace a Street Child began in 2014 - a response to one of Kenya's most visible and least-addressed crises. An estimated 250,000 children live on Kenya's streets, with over 60,000 in Nairobi alone. Behind every number is a child with a name, a story, and a future worth fighting for.
We opened our first centre in Kitale in 2015, and expanded to Nairobi on January 19, 2021. Today, both centres offer rescue, rehabilitation, and reintegration to boys living on the streets, grounded in the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Kitale, Kenya
Our first centre, opened in Kitale in 2015. We reach boys living on the streets of Kitale and surrounding areas - bringing them into a safe home environment where healing and transformation can begin.
Nairobi, Kenya
Opened January 19, 2021, our Nairobi centre extends the Embrace model to Kenya's capital - one of the hardest cities for street children. The same Gospel-centred care, the same Four R's, a new city reached.
These ministry-wide figures reflect Embrace's work across its history in Kitale and Nairobi. Behind every number is a child with a name, a story, and a future worth fighting for.
I learned that my body is God's temple. Whenever I thought about drugs, guilt would wash over me for dirtying God's temple.
Jackson came to Embrace Nairobi at age 13, after 6 years on the streets. Today he attends one of the best senior secondary schools in Kenya - and has been free from drugs for three years.

A VBS-style camp for boys at the Centre. Through discipleship, worship, friendship, play, and intentional time with visiting teams, Embrace Camp strengthens faith, builds confidence, and encourages the staff team.
Designed for boys who have been reintegrated with their families, Reconnect Camp brings graduates back together with staff, mentors, and peers. It celebrates progress, sustains relationships, and continues the spiritual and personal investment in each child's story - long after they leave our doors.
We welcome short and long-term visits to our centres in Kitale and Nairobi. Come and see the work firsthand, encourage the team, and build relationships with the boys.
