Family reintegration support
Reconnect Camp
A reunion camp where boys who have returned home come back together with their parents or guardians, Embrace staff, and volunteers to strengthen family relationships through the Gospel, shared learning, play, and prayer.
What happens at camp
A shared experience for children and adults
Reconnect Camp is for children who have already returned home to their parents, guardians, or relatives. It creates space for families to experience something they may not have at home: time to play together, pray together, laugh together, cry together, and grow in knowing the Lord.
Bible lessons and discussion
Children and guardians hear the Gospel and participate in discussions about faith, relationships, and life challenges while encouraging and supporting one another.
Skills workshops for adults
Parents and guardians participate in various hands-on workshops such as soapmaking, sewing, hairdressing, construction, and welding.
Play and teamwork for boys
Boys reconnect with friends through sports, games, and fun, skill-based activities that encourage cooperation.
Family games and prayer
Family games are a highlight as well as evenings spent in prayer, intercession and worship together.

Journey Home
A shared experience after children return home
We have heard stories of parents and relatives who had never played with their children at home. At camp, those moments become possible. It is a blessing for children, families, and short mission trip teams alike: a life-changing experience that strengthens the journey home.
History
How It Was Started
When a boy returns home, the story is not finished. Reconnect Camp creates space for children and families to keep rebuilding trust, hear the Gospel together, and experience healthy moments of joy that some families have rarely shared.
In 2024, Kenyan Embrace staff partnered with a team of volunteers from Canada to run the first Reconnect Camp in Embrace history. Over three days, boys and adults took part in Bible lessons, discussions, workshops, sports, team-building games, and a final evening of prayer and worship.
