Programs

Embrace walks with street-connected boys through rescue, rehabilitation, family reintegration, and ongoing support, offering practical care rooted in the hope of Christ.

Rescue Rescue begins when a boy is willing and ready to leave street life behind.
Rehabilitation at the Centre At the Centre, he begins a rehabilitation journey focused on care, healing, education, spiritual growth, and preparation for family reintegration.
Family Reintegration Staff work closely with families to prepare each child for a safe and successful return home and reintegration into the community.
Ongoing Follow-Up The journey continues through ongoing follow-up visits and support to ensure long-term success.

A Child’s Journey Home

Each child’s path home is unique. Embrace walks alongside the child and family throughout the reintegration process, helping build a safe, stable, and lasting future at home and in the community.

  1. Street Outreach

When space opens at the Centre, social workers go into the streets and invite boys who are willing to come to Embrace and begin the journey toward restoration. Boys may also come through referrals from other organizations, the Children's Office, and the police department.

  2. Safe Welcome and Family Tracing

Boys enter a safe and supportive environment where their immediate needs are met and they receive counselling, learning support, discipleship, and daily guidance while staff work to trace and reconnect with family members.

  3. Initial Home Visit

Once a boy is ready and family members have been found, a social worker visits the home to understand why he left, whether the situation can be addressed, and whether reunification is wise and possible.

  4. Additional Visits and Short Home Stay

Many cases require multiple visits. A short stay at home can reveal whether the boy and family are ready to live together again and what further support is needed.

  5. School Visit and Preparation

School readiness is an important part of successful reintegration. Social workers visit schools, help resolve concerns, and support boys and families with preparation, requirements, and some school-related needs.

  6. Permanent Reintegration and Follow-Up

Following reintegration, staff continue walking alongside each boy and his family through regular visits, phone calls, spiritual encouragement, practical support, and connections to church or community care.

At the Embrace Centre

Programs at the Centre provide boys with safety, stability, care, and the opportunity to rediscover direction and hope for their future in Christ.
