Hello everyone!
Below you will find our newsletter for the months of October to December. Here are a few things that happened since the beginning of October.
Looking Back at 2025
As we look back, we can only be grateful to the Lord, for He is the one who has carried us through. Through discouragements and uncertainties, He has once again shown us that He is in control and that this is His work. From the staff to the boys, He is the one working in them and through them.
As the year began, we experienced a downsizing of staff as Alloys and Washington went on to serve the Lord in other ways. This left gaps that needed to be filled, and the Lord faithfully provided us with 4 additional staff in 2025.
We faced financial uncertainties when some donors stepped away from giving, yet once again we saw the Lord provide through a grant from an organization in the UK. The funds have helped us up until December. We continue to trust in the Lord for financial stability. Oh, He is mighty and worthy to be trusted.
Embrace was able to host over 60 boys this year—some were reintegrated back into their families, some remain at Embrace, and some, unfortunately, returned to the streets. In 2025, the Lord allowed 26 boys to be reintegrated back into their families. Embrace social workers will continue to follow up with these boys as they settle back into their homes. Please thank the Lord with us for the work He allowed Embrace to do in 2025!
Thanksgiving
Though Thanksgiving is not celebrated as a holiday here in Kenya for obvious reasons, we still choose to bring this celebration to Embrace. It is a time to remember what the Lord has done in our lives individually and in Embrace as an organization.
The boys had the opportunity to thank the staff for their hard work by writing handwritten cards. They also expressed what they are grateful for to the Lord through a small group activity. We were also able to watch a short clip showing how far the Lord has brought Embrace—from the construction of the Embrace Centre, to the first day the boys were welcomed in, and to where the ministry is today. We praise Him for sustaining us and for granting us the desire to continue glorifying Him through this ministry.
Christmas, and many visitors!
As December rolled around, we experienced a wonderful increase in visitors and donations. We truly appreciate every visitor who comes to spend time with our boys.
We also had Pasha from Canada join us on a short-term trip for December!
We were also blessed by a team who generously provided each boy with a Christmas gift tailored to his favourite football team—they were absolutely overjoyed!
We celebrated Christmas by hosting a short programme and then heading out on a special quest to find Joseph, Mary, and the newborn King lying in a manger. The quest took some time, as it led us outside of the Embrace compound. Once everyone was found, we returned to enjoy a much-anticipated lunch together.
Our focus throughout the celebration was to remind the boys of the true reason for Christmas. While we enjoyed gifts and fun activities, we emphasized that we were celebrating the arrival of our Savior. Though He came humbly, He is the true King who came to fulfill God’s redemptive plan:
“And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name Jesus: for he shall save his people from their sins.” — Matthew 1:21 What an amazing reason to celebrate!
New Member
After a year-long search to replace our previous Biblical Counsellor, we are grateful to share that we have hired Daniel Diba to step into this role. We praise the Lord for answering our prayers and for bringing Daniel to us at just the right time.
From the beginning, we were seeking someone who truly desires to serve the Lord, deeply cares for our boys, and can be a strong role model in their lives. Throughout the lengthy search, we continually prayed that we would not lose sight of the kind of person we were trusting God to provide—that we would not hire out of urgency, but rather wait for the right fit.
During Daniel’s interview, which lasted nearly two hours, we found ourselves looking at one another with a shared sense of clarity that we may have found the person God had been preparing for this role. We praise the Lord and pray that He will use Daniel mightily at Embrace as he serves and walks alongside our boys.
Reintegration
We praise the Lord as He continues to bring boys to Embrace and opens our eyes to where He would like us to place them. Over the last few months, we have successfully reintegrated Erick Omondi, Frankline Matwale, John Kingori, and Servian Ochieng.
Servian was reunited with his family after 10 years of not seeing them. His parents were overjoyed to have him back after such a long time—it was a beautiful reunion. As a young child, Servian had been misplaced by a neighbor who took him to a children’s home, and due to his age at the time, he was unable to find his way back to his family.
Embrace social workers initially struggled to trace his family, as there was little to no information Servian could provide. Yet the Lord made a way, and his family was found. There was great joy in the home that day as their son was finally returned to them.
Additionally, we have a few boys who are facing very difficult challenges at home. One of these boys is Ibrahim Hassan, who lives with his mother and siblings. After relocating, his mother has not yet been able to get back on her feet and is truly struggling to support the family. The children are living in a very harsh environment, with little support from others willing to step in and help. We are seeking ways to empower the mother by helping her find work so she can provide for rent and basic needs in the home.
